TeamCity 3.0 Help

Clean-Up Policy

A policy that defines how to clean up build data (build log messages, changes, artifacts and so on). The clean-up policy contains a number of rules, which can be defined for a specific build configuration or for all configurations. In each rule, the administrator can define a number of successful builds to preserve, and/or a length of time that builds should be kept in history (e.g. keep builds for 7 days). These rules do not apply to pinned builds (see Pinned Build).

Also preserved with no respect to clean-up policy are the builds that are used as source for Configuring Artifact Dependencies in other builds.

Each rule has a priority. More specific rules have a higher priority than less specific rules. For example, a rule for a build configuration will have a higher priority than a rule for a project, which is part of the build configuration. If there is more than one rule that applies to the same build configuration, the rule with higher priority will be used.

Each clean-up rule defined what data to cleanup. In TeamCity 3.1 the options are: remove only the build artifacts, remove both artifacts and the build history entry (the build will be preserved only in the statistics charts), and remove everything.

See Build History Clean-Up Policy for more details about clean-up policies configuration.
