I would like to be able to define a "master" profile for error settings which would be shared somewhere; and then permit people to "inherit" from this master profile and tweak with their own preferences (usually to add more warnings, or make the existing warnings more severe). When the master profile changed then "inheritors" would also change, unless they had tweaked this parameter before. The current approach of export/import means that a developer has to re-apply his individual tweaks each time a new master profile is distributed.
