Cannot get files that are marked as Created from check project status info

I am unable to get new files if I run a check project status. I am able to get updated files, but created files can only be pulled down by performing an update.

This shows the results of the check project status. note the file that is marked as created.

This shot shows the options that are available for the file. There is no way to get the newly created file.

Note: If there are updated files, I can call update on them. The problem is that if there are file that you cannot update (e.g. project files with custom configuration), then I must selectively retrieve the files. This option is not available for new files.
