It would be nice if the modal diff window closes when escape is pressed, as other modal windows/dialogs do.

I restarted IDEA and now the escape key closes the diff window – not sure if I found an instance where the escape key doesn't work, or ran into a bug that prevented this from working.

OK – looks like what happens is that, at least in some situations, the diff windows doesn't get focus, and that's why the escape key doesn't work.
