It would be really nice to have the ability to create a new maven-based project from a maven project archetype. Netbeans did this very effectively and it would really round-out the maven integration in IntelliJ IDEA in my opinion. I would envision some sort of wizard project creation flow where a developer is presented with a list of archetypes available in their local (or remote maybe) repository and then fills in the required and optional information to launch the archetype. Currently I have to shell out, invoke an archetype, re-enter the IDE, and open choose to open a project from an external model. It would be cool this this was a seamless operation.
