7.0.3 EA Breaks YourKit Integration

Created: 27 Dec 07 23:13   Updated: 31 Jan 08 22:49
Component/s: Plugin Support. API

Environment: Windows XP SP2, Java 1.6.0_02

Build: 7,626
Severity: Extreme

 Description  « Hide
When trying to start a profiling session (using both YourKit 5.5 and 7.1) with build 7626 results in a message from YourKit:
Cannot start: cannot listen on port 0.

I explicitly set the port for YourKit to use, and then I get:
Cannot start: cannot listen on port 6000

When running with the 7.0.2 (build #7590) YourKit works as expected.

Is there a workaround for this?

Ok, the workaround for me was to enable profiling manually in my run configuration, and just Run the configuration (rather than Profile it). The instructions for enabling profiling manually are in the YourKit help. I think enabling profiling manually is LOTS easier than using the IDE integration.
