This is taken from the original report: "Find in path results tab sometimes hides Find's tool window once the Find is complete. Here's how I can reproduce it reliably: Open IDEA and run your first Find in path. Note the state of my find is the following although I don't know if any of these related to the bug- Find tab state: not floating, docked, unpinned, hidden, tab in bottom tool window bar Find in path is scoped for Whole project and everything else is default (not checked) including "Open in new tab". I do not put the find into the background or cancel it. The find has matches (but not enough to ask the continue question) and opens the tool window and you can see the matches building until it completes and hides the tool window. No other find tabs results. Not checked: Show buttons for disabled tool windows" I had biten by that several times in 6.0.5, and twice already in 7.0.1. On my case, the 'messages' tab got hidden and wont show up, even after restarting IDEA. It will only show up only after I replace .ipr and .iws with older version dated back to before the problem occur.
