Often when errors occur, I make corrections to them and even rebuild, but the "error squiggles" continue.

Here, I've corrected the error (which itself was anomolous) and even done a rebuild. The messages window is empty (there are no messages) but the red squiggles are still there and I don't know how to remove them.

Many bugs have been filed on this. I see it all the time as well. It is amazing that JetBrains hasn't reproduce it or hasn't worked hard enough to. This makes IDEA look unprofessional to folks who see it – probably the majority of users. For their own sakes, I wish JetBrains would focus a little more energy on killing this bug.

Well, it has been reproduced, and AFAIK it has been fixed.
