There are buttons for replacing one diff with another, and buttons for inserting a diff from one side to the other, but no corresponding button to delete text on the other side (which is sometimes the correct action to take in a merge). Currently you must select the section by hand and delete it manually. This can be error prone. There should be a button to do this automatically. The problem is where to place the button. I've suggested one way (the red double arrows).
