Sometimes, when you work on a complex change that encompases many files, you want to break your commits into several cycles. For instance, commit all XXX-related files with a special message, then commit another set of files with another message, etc.
Today, the best way to commit multiple files scattered across the project, is use the "Commit Project" dialog ("Version Control"/"Commit Project" in the menu bar). However, once you select the files to commit in the window, enter the message, and press commit, the dialog closes and you have to reopen it. It would be nice to have a "Commit and keep open" button so that you can continue working on the commit cycle.
That's how Eclipse does it and its very useful.
