There should be a way to pick a version in local history and extract a ful project snapshot into a new folder.

If there is a way to do this, I can't find it.

This should be relatively easy for you and very useful for us.

I'm not quite sure why regular version control cannot handle this task. Could you please mention a real use case for this feature?
