By default, there's a File Type defined for C# files in IDEA. This way, the files are recognized as text files, string literals are highlighted, brackets, parens, and braces are matched. And highlighting is available for them.
I'd expect Expand Selection to work consistently, ie support selecting string literals and matching-bracket constructs. However, Expand Selection only works as in text files, the Word-Line-File way.
