I have a interface that is syntactically correct and compiles fine, but IDEA shows it as an error. I run in bat mode. When I click on the file's buffer tab, I see a huge exception fly by (attached), which seems to indicate some discrepency between the file size and the actual size. I've been doing a lot of merging between branches, updating and rolling back of various files in the project. This file itself used to be a class and was turned into an interface.
