I don't know what common extensions are for patch files - I use ".patch" myself.

The "Select Patch File" dialog currently shows all files. Having a "filter on extension" flag (or something similar) would allow me to find my patch files quicker.

I'd say .diff is the most common extension used, insofar as one is used at all - certainly in the Linux/Unix world.

A filter for (.patch|.diff) then? I don't think there are any others...?
