 Description  « Hide
If your file contains some UTF-8 comments or other non-ascii symbols, Idea will mark them as changed in a diff window. Clearcase's native diff (Compare to previous/another version) is ok.
Maybe it's also true for non Clearcase VCS, but I cannot check that.

This is not a ClearCase-only problem, I've seen it with CVS as well.

Dmitry Jemerov - 17 Oct 07 16:43
Sascha: Then please file a separate request for CVS. In particular, please specify whether you used the Diff action from Changes view or the "Compare with..." action from the context menu - they currently use significantly different code paths for encoding determination.

Sascha Weinreuter - 17 Oct 07 17:01
Well, I don't know any more. Maybe it has been fixed already. Although it sounds really strange to me that determining the encoding of XML files is VCS dependant.

And to everyone else?

Hello Jonas,

We know about this problem with the JIRA newsgroup synchronizer, but frankly
the comments contains nothing so sensitive for this to be a problem.

The bug is still there
I tried 7.0.1, if you call it "Selena Bugfix Update"

Should I clear some caches?

Dmitry Jemerov - 30 Oct 07 15:01
This issue will be fixed in 7.0.2. Version 7.0.1 doesn't contain any ClearCase fixes.

Max Ishchenko - 30 Oct 07 15:09
Oops, sorry. Haven't read release notes for 7.0.1

That's strange - so many "Selena Bugfix Update" bugs are marked fixed , but 7.0.1 includes only 18 of them

Dmitry Jemerov - 30 Oct 07 15:14
As specified in the release announcement, 7.0.1 was done very soon after release and includes only safe fixes for critical problems. For 7.0.2, we'll have much better possibility to test the fixes, so the scope for inclusion is much broader.

Michael Gerasimov - 30 Oct 07 15:14
That's because 7.01 contained only URGENTLY necessarty fixes, critical for overall system.

Max Ishchenko - 31 Oct 07 12:16
7.0.2 has this bug it its Release Notes, but it's still not fixed in 7.0.2 Early Access Preview (build 7523)
Should I suppose, these Release Notes will be valid for 7.0.2 release, not for 7.0.2 EAP?

Sorry for my importunity

Max Ishchenko - 17 Dec 07 20:09
The bug is still there in 7.0.2
I see that in UTF-8 encoded files.
The default encoding is set to windows-1251, Autodetect UTF-encoded files switched on.

Dmitry Jemerov - 17 Dec 07 20:25
A proper fix for this issue will be included in the first EAP build of 7.0.3.
