 Description  « Hide
It would be very helpful in any dialogs that have CVS keyword substitutions selections (such as the update dialog, see update.png) and Version Control Configuration dialog (see vc-configuration.png) to see the actual switch values (like all the other options). Since I have worked with a command line for many years, I often I know the switch I want more readily then I know the IDEA name for what I want.

*The attached proposed-solution.png mock up show what I recommend having. *

Adding to the confusion of what is the desired select is the fact that IDEA uses names for the options that are, IMHO, uncommon, and in at least one case very misleading. For example, all the reference documents I have refer to the -kk switch as "Keyword-only mode", describing it as "Generate only keyword names in keyword strings; omit their values." So when I look at the list of IDEA options, I tend to think that "no substitution" would map to -kk since the values are not substituted in for the keywords. However "no substitution actually maps to -ko (which the documentation refers to as "Old-contents mode" with a description of "Generate the old keyword string, present in the working file just before it was checked in." This confusion is great enough that I will open a separate JIRA requesting the selection names change.
