if you restart idea (store password == no), on project opening the login dialog appears prompting to type a password; if the incorrect password is typed, the dialog appears again and again – no error messages are shown.
However, if you login normally and then go to version control settings and update the server configuration there, then in case of incorrect password entering in login dialog the error message is shown.
