I've got 5 local scopes defined and selecting each scope seems to cause the same files/packages being scanned again and again. This is very inconvenient and should only happen once I select the first scope and the information gathered from this run should be cached.

To the very least progress indicator should not be modal (blocking). Package scanning should be performed in background. Quickly jumping between scopes defined in Project Settings|Scopes I was able to lock up IDEA completely and had to hard kill it.
